There is plenty of concentration to the very serious and almost painfully intense broad-shouldered flavors that display excellent precision on the austere

but so often it is much more than that

the wine showed immediately accessible characteristics of wild berry fruit and spice

This was the start of serious changes in Quinault, bought in 2008 by Bernard Arnault and Albert Frre, but this is still in the old school mould, and it's rather fascinating to be reminded of how different its personality was at the time.
