Digitalis laevigata Pennisetum no wonder it was namedWe absolutely love Digitalis laevigata, a perennial foxglove species, endemic to the Balkan peninsula, which has thrived in our hot, humid, rainy summers since 2017. The 5' tall (yes, many references say 3' tall, but we don't let our plants read books) flower spikes open, starting in mid May (NC) with terminal spikes of tightly stacked, small, bronzy orange flowers. Well drained, gravelly soils yield the best results.
