It dates to the 1960s and is knit with a raised butterfly and quarter moon pattern in white against a solid red background colour

The brooch is unsigned, but most likely of North African origin, probably Egyptian, and possibly made for the French market. The piece is quite large, measuring 4 1 8 across at its widest and with a height of 3 3 4 from the highest point to the bottom of the centre drop. I would date the brooch to about 1930.
