11576 Dance rector of North WalthamsBeatrice Webb (nee Potter) [1858 1943] and her husband Sidney Webb, 1st Baron Passfield [1859 1947] were English socialist economists intensely interested in social reform. Beatrice conducted social research using the scientific method. Her husband helped found the London School of Economics and was an MP. Both were members of the Fabian Society. Beatrice wrote this book, which covers the social movements of the 1880's and 1890's, after World War I.
