The 2000 was roaring from the glass when I tasted it in the estates Cote Rotie cellars
I would not mark it down as a top tier Petrus
with the 2011 Flaccianello della Pieve appearing a bit softer and plumper around the midsection
A point of acidity adds levity and length
but you have to guide yourself by the palate
Abreu, Thorevilos Cabernet Sauvignon Vintage:2018 The 2000 was roaring fromGrown on white volcanic ash soil, the deep garnet purple colored 2014 Thorevilos Proprietary Red has a very meaty nose with charcuterie, beef drippings, truffles and wood smoke over spice cake, blackberry tart, warm blackcurrants, earth and anise plus a waft of cedar chest. The palate is very firm, grainy, lively and taut with loads of earthy savory layers and great length.
